Mercedes-Benz is adjusting its electric vehicle strategy by developing an electric E-Class that returns to a traditional three-volume sedan design. This move departs from the distinctive, rounded silhouette of previous EQ models, such as the EQE, which were criticized for their polarizing aesthetics. Prototype testing near the Nürburgring has revealed production-ready lighting and classic proportions. The upcoming model is expected to arrive in 2027, effectively replacing the EQE. It will be built on the new MB. EA-M MB.EA-M platform, which is designed for mid-to-large electric vehicles and supports 800-volt technology and rapid charging capabilities. As part of a broader industry shift toward electrification, Mercedes-Benz is also expanding its lineup with the new CLA. This model is expected to arrive in markets such as Mexico in both hybrid and fully electric versions, utilizing the MMA architecture and AI-integrated software.
