Merck financial performance and product updates
Overview
Merck reported strong third-quarter 2026 financial results, exceeding analyst expectations with revenue of $18.09 billion, a 4.7% increase year-on-year. Due to this performance, the company raised its full-year revenue guidance to approximately $67.05 billion and increased its adjusted earnings per share guidance to a range of $2.77 to $2.82.
Growth was driven by several key products. The cancer drug Keytruda generated $8.60 billion in sales, with the newer injectable formulation, Keytruda Qlex, contributing $830 million. Other significant contributors included the HPV vaccine Gardasil, which saw approximately $2 billion in sales, and Winrevair, which saw a 93% increase from the previous year.
In addition to financial results, Merck announced that Ontario will include its pneumococcal vaccine, CAPVAXIVE, in its publicly funded adult immunization program starting in 2026. This vaccine is intended to prevent invasive pneumococcal disease in adults aged 18 and older.
