In July 2026 Meta unveiled a new autonomous AI assistant that can plan, act and complete a range of everyday tasks without continuous user prompts, marking a shift from a reactive question‑answer tool to a proactive task manager. The feature began rolling out in a few markets with broader availability planned. By August 2026 Meta had also introduced the Meteo AI agent, which automates the entire workflow of advertising campaigns—from audience targeting and creative generation to reporting and budget adjustments—drastically cutting campaign setup time. At the same time, Amazon added ten AI‑driven capabilities to its DSP advertising suite, simplifying campaign creation to a few clicks and reporting significant cost‑per‑acquisition improvements. Later in July, Meta expanded the autonomous assistant, now powered by the Muse Spark 1.1 model, to generate shopping mood‑boards, training schedules, event plans and briefing documents, with all outputs saved in a shared archive that users can edit and share. The rollout continued in a limited set of markets on the Meta AI and meta.ai apps, with broader availability across additional platforms such as WhatsApp expected in the coming weeks. In early August, Meta launched two further AI‑driven tools for commercial and developer workflows. The Meta Business Agent, integrated into WhatsApp Business, Instagram Professional, Messenger and Meta Business Suite, can hold natural conversations, recommend products, answer support queries, qualify leads, linking with services like Shopify, Zendesk and Shopee. Simultaneously, the AI Developer Assistant replaced traditional documentation searches, providing real‑time, context‑aware answers drawn from Meta’s developer documentation and API references to aid onboarding, issue resolution and compliance. On August 11, Meta expanded the Meta Business Agent to Instagram, adding to its existing availability on WhatsApp and Messenger. Meta noted that over one million businesses were already using Business Agents on WhatsApp and Messenger, with over one billion active daily threads across its messaging platforms. In mid‑August, Meta launched a standalone, AI‑powered Creator Studio app for iOS in the United States and Canada.
