Meteoric Resources rare earth project developments

Overview

Meteoric Resources has advanced its rare earth operations in Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The National Nuclear Safety Authority (ANSN) granted an exemption from nuclear regulatory control to the company’s Project Caldeira pilot plant after inspections confirmed that activity concentrations met safety standards.

Following these operational developments, Australian mining company Lynas Rare Earths announced an all-share agreement to acquire 100% of Meteoric Resources for approximately US$ 672 million. The acquisition would give Lynas control of the Caldeira Rare Earth Project, which contains significant resources of neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approval from Brazil’s National Council for Industrialization of Critical and Strategic Minerals (CIMCE).
