Mexico continues to host a variety of regional cultural, gastronomic, and religious festivities. In Mexico City, the TlacuACH Fest in the Historic Center has introduced a symphonic tribute to The Beatles alongside workshops centered on La Catrina traditions. New gastronomic events are scheduled for the capital. The First Mexican Sweet Bread Festival will take place from September 11–13 at the Monumento a la Revolución explanade. Organized by the National Chamber of the Baking, Pastry and Similar Industry of Mexico (Canainppa), the event seeks to promote traditional sweet bread as an “Intangible Cultural Heritage” of the city, featuring a Sweet Bread Museum and exhibitions of nearly 50 varieties of bread considered extinct. Admission to the festival is free. Following the recent declaration of sweet bread as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Mexico City, the event will feature master bakers and emblematic bakeries offering items such as conchas, cuernos, and polvorones. Additionally, the 2026 Coffee, Chocolate, and Pan de Muerto Festival will celebrate its tenth anniversary on October 24–25 at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, CDMX campus. Independence Day celebrations will ~~also~~ feature the third edition of the Charro Fest in Mexico City on September 5. The 3rd Copa Charro Fest is scheduled for September 5, 2026, at the Lienzo Charro de Constituyentes. The event celebrates charrería traditions through equestrian skill, escaramuzas, and cultural performances, concluding with musical sets by Banda Pequeños Musical and El Jilguero. In Xochimilco, the third edition of the Ax-Elote Cultural Festival is scheduled for September 11–13, 2026. Organized by Tradición Chinampera, the festival focuses on corn cultivated in the chinampas and aims to recognize chinampero producers. This follows government reports of 64 different types of corn races in Mexico, 59 of which are considered native. Veracruz remains active with the Festival del Pambazo in Xalapa, and Isla Mujeres is observing its 176th ~~anniversary through musical performances and artisanal fairs.~~ anniversary.
