Mexican political disputes over security and governance

Political leaders in Mexico have raised various criticisms against the ruling Morena party, focusing on issues of governance, security, and public service management.

In Oaxaca, PRI officials accused the current administration of practicing impunity and using moralizing rhetoric that fails to address the realities of organized crime and insecurity. Concerns were also raised regarding the government’s approach to territory control and a lack of transparency concerning the operations of Mexicana de Aviación.

In Michoacán, political disputes emerged as state official Juan Manzo denied allegations linking him to organized crime, characterizing the complaints as a political strategy and a distraction from investigations into his brother's death.

In Tamaulipas, PRI leadership, including Bruno Díaz Lara, has accused the state government of using the COMAPA Río Bravo water utility as a tool for political pressure, citing deficient water services and poor water quality that affects local residents and commerce. In response to criticisms from PRI leadership, the INE in Tamaulipas defended its institutional integrity, asserting its commitment to free elections.

In Morelos, the government of Cuernavaca reported that members of the Labor Party (PT) blocked the Government Palace, trapping employees and citizens inside. Additionally, in Lerma, a local official reported an arbitrary eviction from her office by security personnel.
