Mexico continues to implement strategies to promote regional tourism by focusing on cultural heritage, specialized travel segments, and infrastructure expansion. In Querétaro, the ‘Open House’ festival scheduled for October 17–18 is expected to attract between 7,000 and 8,000 visitors, generating an economic impact of 5 million pesos. The program features approximately 60 activities, including architectural tours of landmarks such as the Estadio Corregidora and Teatro Metropolitano, with about 60% of the sites being new to this edition. Puebla has reported significant growth, recording 12.5 million visitors between January and September 2026—a 2026, a 5.6% increase over the previous year. This influx has generated an economic impact of 14 billion pesos, with 4.5 million overnight stays. State authorities are targeting 19.9 million visitors and 21 billion pesos in revenue by the end of the year. This expansion is supported by 12 new air routes operated by Volaris, connecting the state to domestic locations and international cities like Houston, Los Angeles, and New York. Efforts to preserve cultural identity are also expanding through specialized gatherings. Seven ‘Pueblos Mágicos’ from Querétaro will participate in the National Encounter of Pueblos Mágicos in Tampico from November 26 to 29, 2026, showcasing the state’s four tourism regions through gastronomy, crafts, and ancestral medicine. Additionally, in Oaxaca, the town of Capulálpam de Méndez will host ‘Por el Gusto de Sahumar 2026’ on November 7–8, an event organized by Ethnos Kurativa Oaxaca to bring together traditional healers, midwives, and artisans to promote traditional medicine and organic products. Newer initiatives include Guanajuato Capital’s international strategy to target the European market for romance and cultural tourism, highlighting destination weddings and its UNESCO-recognized heritage.
