Since mid‑June 2026, Mexico’s social‑security agencies have expanded benefits for older adults. IMSS introduced pension‑holder discounts of up to 50 % on health, transport, and culture, while INAPAM added various retail discounts and free credential renewals. In July, IMSS eliminated in‑person survival‑certificate visits for domestic pensioners, and the government opened registration for a universal health credential for Bienestar beneficiaries. In Querétaro, the State DIF System hosted a sports encounter in Corregidora for over 350 seniors. In Cancún, the DIF Benito Juárez is operating the “Nohoch Nah” day stay and the “Club de la Esperanza,” providing workshops, psychological support, and free activities such as yoga and dance to foster social integration and well-being. In late August, Quintana Roo confirmed its participation in the “Universal Health Service,” a federal strategy aimed at strengthening primary care and medical accessibility following a meeting between Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa and President Claudia Sheinbaum. Locally, the DIF Benito Juárez in Cancún is expanding its senior programs to include digital skills training through a partnership with OXXO, alongside existing recreational and nutritional initiatives.
