The Durango assembly added a special emphasis on “screen tourism,” with audiovisual leaders presenting opportunities for film productions nationwide. Sinaloa announced a growth and underscoring Sinaloa’s new Film Law aimed at attracting projects and creating jobs, underscoring the intent to leverage film locations as a catalyst for local economic development while maintaining development. The Durango assembly, chaired by ASETUR President Roberto Monroy García, featured industry leaders Diana Álvarez Segoviano (COMEFILM), Jorge Alberto Medina Arauna (AMFI) and Mauricio Durán Ortega (CANACINE) who presented evidence that film productions boost hotel occupancy, local commerce and job creation. The meeting approved coordinated tourism‑promotion measures covering innovation, sustainability goals. and professionalisation, and called for shared best‑practice case studies to position Mexico as a world‑leading film‑tourism destination.
