By August 2026, the Vivienda para el Bienestar program has reached approximately 43 percent of its six-year goal, with 518,000 homes contracted across 31 states. In Yucatán, the program is nearing its state target of 60,000 homes, with an investment exceeding 38 billion pesos. In Quintana Roo, the first session of mortgage cancellations led by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa and INFONAVIT delegate Gerardo René García Hernández has benefited 100 families. This initiative, promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum, aims to address a backlog of 51,000 ~~cancellations.~~ cancellations by providing legal certainty to workers who had been paying off credits for 20 to 30 years but still appeared as debtors. Through a standing agreement, families save approximately 16,000 pesos in administrative and registration fees, with a goal to complete more than 13,000 cancellations this year. In Michoacán, the program continues to expand through home deliveries in Yurécuaro, where 32 families received keys to the Las Hortalizas subdivision. These homes prioritize vulnerable groups, such as indigenous populations, the elderly, and people with disabilities, with ground-floor units designed for accessibility. Additionally, plans are underway in Carácuaro to construct over 100 new homes for families without social security in high-marginalization areas. David Soto Quizamán, director general of the Instituto de Vivienda del Estado (IVEM), stated that 20 percent of these homes will be designated for young people. A formal agreement between the Carácuaro municipal government and Conavi is expected shortly. Other regional developments include the commencement of the second stage of the Casa Cuna-Casa Hogar in Vizcaíno, Baja California, involving a 20 million peso investment for the care of vulnerable youth.
