By mid‑June 2026 the Secretariat reported 604,000 homes contracted and 274,000 under construction, roughly one‑third of the six‑year target of 1.8 million. Credit expansion through Infonavit and FOVISSSTE, including a new loan scheme for women public‑sector workers and pensioners, was highlighted. Industry groups warned in early July that the program’s uniform price ceiling of 630,000 pesos was far below market costs in major metros, with the average mortgage‑financed home costing more than 1.8 million pesos. They cautioned that the ceiling could push developers to peripheral sites and produce poorly connected housing. On 14 July the state of Morelos raised its allocation from 10,000 to 24,000 homes, adding 13,000 new units in Cuautla and land and infrastructure support from the state, in partnership with Infonavit. The next day Governor Margarita González Saravia linked the boost to an integrated peace strategy unveiled at the Feria de Paz, offering more than 70 free services (health, legal aid, education, employment) and earmarking part of the donated land for sports and recreation facilities. The initiative is backed by an estimated 8.15 billion‑peso investment. On 15 July the governor formally launched the peace initiative, emphasizing its role in improving security and community cohesion while the housing expansion proceeds. On 25 July President Claudia Sheinbaum presided over a ceremony in Xoxocotla, handing over 43 new homes and dozens of mortgage settlements and titles. Nationwide Infonavit had contracted nearly 514,000 units – 43% 43 % of the 1.8 million‑unit goal – and placed 29,900 homes. In Morelos’s Plan de Ayala development, 528 units were sold and 2,324 slated to start construction, moving the state toward about 35% 35 % of its target. The program also aims to restructure or cancel more than 35,000 high‑risk mortgages and secure titles for tens of thousands of families.
