Michael Jackson tribute performances and celebrations continue across various regions in Brazil. In the Santo André and Barueri regions, cultural programming includes the 90-minute show ‘O Rei Ainda Vive’ by Michael James at the Teatro Municipal Maestro Flavio Florence. Additionally, Christian Joseph is scheduled to lead a free tribute as part of the ‘Cover Nights’ series at Shopping Tamboré in Barueri on August 15. Musical tributes also include ‘Tributo a Michael Jackson – Uma celebração inesquecível ao legado do Rei do Pop’ at the Casa de Cultura Adolpho Bloch in Teresópolis on August 22. This performance features the Chosen Voices Choir and students from the Studio de Voz Cantada Jane Gomes, providing accessibility through Sign Language interpretation and audio description. To coincide with the artist’s birthday, the biographical film ‘Michael’, directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Jaafar Jackson, is scheduled for special screenings in Brazilian cinemas on August 29. The film has previously seen significant commercial success in the country, ranking as the 12th largest release with over R$ 169 million in local revenue. Further expanding the tributes, performer Rodrigo Teaser is conducting a “Tribute to the King of Pop” tour. The production, which includes live music and choreography supervised by former Jackson choreographer LaVelle Smith Jr., is scheduled for September 6 in São Carlos at Oasis Eventos and October 17 in Natal at the Teatro Riachuelo. Teaser is also scheduled to perform at the Teatro Rio Vermelho in Goiânia on December 17, featuring a live band and dancers performing hits such as ‘Billie Jean’ and ‘Thriller’. New orchestral tributes have been announced via the Ídolos Orquestrados 2026 project. Led by conductor Tiago Padim and the Orquestra Filarmônica Moderna Brasileira, the production features over 40 artists in a multimedia experience.
