The MICHELIN Guide has expanded its coverage in Greece for the 2027 selection, moving beyond Athens to include Thessaloniki and Santorini. This expansion, supported by a partnership with the Greek National Tourism Organisation, followed inspections by anonymous inspectors that began in December 2025. On October 20, 2026, the guide officially released its selection, featuring 62 restaurants across the three major hubs. The current rankings include 21 Michelin stars, comprising 19 single-star establishments and one two-star establishment. Notably, Lycabettus Restaurant in Santorini, led by Executive Chef Christos Karagiannis, Karagiannis and Petros Brandenburg, became the country’s only two-star restaurant following the reduction of Delta restaurant to one star. The 2027 selection also saw seven restaurants receive their first Michelin Star: four located in Athens (Aleria, Seeds, SENSE, and Simul) and three in Santorini. In Thessaloniki, the guide introduced seven Bib Gourmand establishments and 15 recommended restaurants, though no stars were awarded to the city in this edition. Additionally, the guide recognizes seven Bib Gourmand establishments for high-quality food at moderate prices and 21 recommended restaurants.
