The 2027 MICHELIN Guide for Manila, Environs, and Cebu has been unveiled, marking an expansion of recommended establishments from 108 in 2026 to 127. The new edition includes 31 Bib Gourmand selections and 86 MICHELIN Selected restaurants. FLOW, a Peruvian-Filipino tasting menu restaurant in Makati, earned the first new Michelin star since the guide debuted in the country. Helm, led by Chef Josh Boutwood, remains the only restaurant in the Philippines to hold a two-star distinction. Eight other restaurants maintained their one-star ratings. The guide is part of a partnership between MICHELIN and the Department of Tourism. President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. attended the unveiling ceremony, stating that international recognition of Filipino cuisine could drive tourism and support local farmers, fisherfolk, and small enterprises. This edition also expands its coverage to include Pampanga for the first time, alongside existing recognitions in Metro Manila, Cavite, and Cebu. Inspectors noted a strengthening of Filipino culinary identity, driven by local ingredients and regional traditions. Beyond dining, the 2026 Michelin Key selections highlight nine hotels in the Philippines. NUSTAR Hotel Cebu is the sole recipient of a Michelin Key in Cebu, while El Nido Resorts Lagen Island in Palawan and Raffles Makati have become the country’s first Two-Key properties. Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay noted that culinary travelers typically spend three times more and stay longer than standard leisure tourists.
