Middle East travel and tourism industry recognition

The Middle East travel, tourism, and hospitality sectors have received significant international recognition through various 2026 industry awards and rankings.

In the hospitality sector, luxury properties in Bahrain and Dubai earned multiple accolades. The Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain was named Best Beachfront Hotel, Best Convention Hotel, and Best Destination Wedding Hotel in Bahrain, while its General Manager was recognized as the Best General Manager in the country. In Dubai, Atlantis The Royal ranked fourth globally in The 50 Best Hotels 2026 and received honors as the Best Hotel in the Middle East and Best Beach Hotel.

Broader industry rankings also highlighted regional leadership. Forbes Middle East identified the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt as having the highest numbers of travel and tourism leaders, with Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum retaining the top position for five years. Additionally, the World Travel Awards recognized Dubai as ‘Middle East’s Leading Destination’ and Abu Dhabi as the ‘Middle East’s Leading Business Travel Destination’. Saudi Arabia received awards for heritage and cultural destinations, while Qatar Airways and Emirates secured leading titles in the aviation sector.
