In late July 2026, Ajax forward Mika Godts said he was not planning to leave, praising the new technical staff and focusing on helping Ajax win the Eredivisie. Within days, media linked him with interest from Paris Saint‑Germain and Galatasaray, and Ajax, who hold his contract until June 2029, were said to be demanding a fee above his market value, estimated around €10 million. On 31 July, Paris Saint‑Germain confirmed that formal negotiations with Ajax had begun. The French club, fresh from a Champions League win, reportedly set a price of roughly €60 million for the 21‑year‑old Belgian winger, who recorded 17 goals and 15 assists in 44 matches last season and was named Eredivisie Talent of the Year. PSG sporting director Luis Campos met Godts in Porto, and while Godts said he is happy at Ajax, he remains open to a move. Ajax indicated willingness to negotiate but signaled they will not accept less than their asking price. PSG are also finalising the signing of Maghnes Akliouche and preparing for the likely departure of left‑winger Bradley Barcola, after abandoning a pursuit of Yan Diomande and making Godts a priority target. Ajax technical director Jordi Cruijff reiterated the club’s desire to retain the talent for at least another year, while PSG appear ready to meet the €60 million demand.
