On September 18, a group of musicians, including rappers Omar Ramo, 351 Bratan, and Darié Baby, caused significant traffic disruptions on the SS35 Milano-Meda highway near Affori, Milan. The group occupied the roadway to film a music video using motorcycles and a drone, resulting in long queues of stalled vehicles. The incident triggered political controversy. Regional councilor Alessandro Corbetta announced plans to file a formal complaint with the Milan Police regarding the unauthorized road seizure. While some social media critics condemned the disruption to public safety, supporters argued that political framing of the event was intended to incite racial tension. Following the incident, a justice of the peace in Milan validated an expulsion decree for Nicolae Novacenko, a 32-year-old Moldovan rapper known as Bratan. Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi announced that Novacenko’s residence permit was revoked and he would be placed on a flight to his home country, citing social danger. Novacenko’s lawyer criticized Authorities noted that the speed determination of ‘social danger’ was influenced not only by the highway incident but also by two prior offenses: an illegal possession of a telescopic baton in 2016 and a minor drug possession charge. Investigators identified the rapper through social media analysis of the footage posted online. Novacenko’s lawyer, Matteo Politano, has contested the decision, characterizing calling the event as a “minor stunt” expulsion disproportionate and suggesting political motivations behind the rapid enforcement. The defense argues the traffic disruption was exaggerated for political interest. lasted only a few minutes and characterizes the event as a mere ‘stunt.’ Legal counsel has announced intentions to appeal the decision through the Regional Administrative Court (TAR).
