Milky Mist Dairy Food Ltd, a premium dairy producer based in Tamil Nadu, launched its initial public offering (IPO) on August 11, 2026. The issue size was Rs 1,553 crore, consisting of a fresh equity issue of up to Rs 1,428 crore and an offer-for-sale of up to Rs 125 crore, with a price band of Rs 133 to Rs 140 per share. This offering represents the largest ever IPO by an Indian dairy company. The downsizing of the IPO followed a pre-IPO funding round in May, where the company raised Rs 482 crore from Jongsong Investments Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Singapore’s Temasek Holdings. The company intended to use the fresh issue proceeds to repay borrowings, modernize manufacturing facilities in Perundurai, and improve cold-chain infrastructure. Following the subscription period from August 11–13, the IPO saw intense demand, being subscribed 56.12 times overall. Demand was particularly high among qualified institutional buyers (QIBs), whose portion was subscribed 155.83 times. On August 18, 2026, the company’s shares debuted on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the BSE. Shares opened at ₹181.50 While reports varied on the NSE, a 29.6 exact opening, the stock saw significant volatility; shares listed at ₹165, an 18 per cent premium over the ₹140 IPO price, while other reports indicated listing prices around ₹165. but climbed during intraday trading to reach as high as ₹181.50. This peak marked a 30 per cent gain and saw the stock hit the upper circuit. Analysts attributed the positive reception to the company’s leadership in categories such as paneer, yogurt, and cheese.
