For the 2026-27 NBA season, the Minnesota Timberwolves announced a partnership with KARE 11 and DAZN to simulcast 15 games for free over-the-air. This expansion includes coverage in the Minneapolis market as well as adjacent territories in Minnesota and Wisconsin through agreements with Gray Media. However, Specifically, the package will reach Rochester, Duluth, and Mankato via digital broadcast channels, and the La Crosse-Eau Claire, Wisconsin market via a CW Network affiliate. Select games in these regions may also air on Gray’s primary ABC, NBC, CBS, or Fox affiliates. Matt Caldwell, CEO of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx, stated that expanding access is a “key priority” for the organization. Despite these efforts to increase reach, fans have encountered faced accessibility challenges due to the team’s a fragmented distribution model. Following the move to DAZN, which offers seasonal subscription tiers, reports indicated the team ranked 28th out of 30 NBA teams in broadcast accessibility. While streaming options exist, they do not provide access to all games, as certain matchups remain exclusive to national broadcasters such as ABC, ESPN, and NBC. Recent developments indicate the Timberwolves are introducing new options for fans to watch games outside of the DAZN streaming service.
