Country music artist Miranda Lambert has released a new 12-track album titled ‘Crisco’, which blends country music with 1970s disco influences. Co-produced with Jesse Frasure, the project features collaborations with artists including Chris Stapleton on ‘A Song to Sing’ and Ella Langley on the opening track ‘Snakeskin Boots’. Lambert noted that the creative process involved overcoming significant burnout and creative blocks, describing the record as a journey of finding joy through musical styles she had not previously explored, such as sweeping strings and disco. Regarding the release, Lambert described the emotional vulnerability of the process, noting that releasing new music often feels like putting ‘your heart on a page’ for public judgment. Unlike previous projects that felt stressful due to high expectations, she approached ‘Crisco’ with the intention of simply enjoying the process. The album also holds personal significance, drawing inspiration from women in her life, including her grandmother. In addition to the album release, Lambert has transitioned into a more collaborative role within the industry. She recently co-wrote and co-produced the hit ballad ‘Choosin’ Texas’ for Ella Langley, a track inspired by the 1980s ‘Urban Cowboy’ era. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of her breakout single ‘Kerosene’, Lambert performed a duet of the song with Langley at the Academy of Country Music Awards. During the launch of ‘Crisco’, Lambert also addressed past rumors regarding a 2010 altercation with Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, clarifying that she ‘threw moonshine in his face’ rather than hitting him. She expressed an interest in mentoring new artists and commented on the increasing diversity and balance within the modern country music industry.
