She and her husband, Tyler, are licensed foster parents. During the competition, Kelley emphasized that women should not have to choose between professional ambitions and family life.

Her prize package, valued at over $685,000, includes a $150,000 salary and a luxury apartment lease. She is scheduled to represent the United States at the Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico this November.

The Miss USA ceremony was hosted by Ian Ziering and Kenya Moore. Due to contractual issues with The CW, the broadcast was moved to the Queen Beauty Network.
