Authorities in Odisha and Bihar are investigating multiple incidents of mob violence targeting young couples. In Dhenkanal, Odisha, police launched an inquiry after viral video footage showed a group intercepting a man and woman on a motorcycle near Kapilash hills. The victims victims, including Arpita Mohanty, were reportedly traveling toward a Shiva temple when they were subjected to physical assault and harassment. Dhenkanal SP Abhinav Sonkar confirmed that a case has been registered under the BNS and IT Act, with several individuals Act. Three individuals, identified as Saroj Nayak and Sameer Nayak, have been taken into custody. Similar violence was reported in Jamui, Bihar, where footage captured a crowd surrounding and verbally abusing a young couple. The video shows the pair pleading with the crowd as they faced verbal abuse and physical aggression. Following the circulation of these videos, Bihar Police directed local authorities to take action, resulting in the arrest of three individuals as investigations continue.
