Molise regional governance and labor issues healthcare improvements

The Democratic Party (PD) in the Molise Regional Council has raised concerns regarding healthcare shortages, long waiting lists, and labor issues, including the Stellantis crisis in Termoli. The party specifically noted a lack of pediatric services in Agnone and requested better oversight of private healthcare services. Following these concerns, the regional council has moved to review legislative initiatives. These include a bill proposed by the PD to ensure quality of work and prevent “contract dumping” in public tenders, as well as a proposal to extend the rankings of public competition results for permanent positions within the Molise Regional Health Agency (ASReM). In response to systemic challenges and demographic shifts, the region is now focusing on social and civil regeneration to protect community cohesion. As part of these efforts to strengthen essential services, the healthcare provider ASReM has decided to restore continuous medical presence at the territorial station in Santa Croce di Magliano. This initiative aims to enhance healthcare coverage and proximity care for populations in internal areas, specifically within the Fortore and Basso Molise regions.
