Preparations for the 68th Monte Erice hillclimb race began with the implementation of safety measures, such as placing hay bales along the track, to accommodate daily traffic until the event scheduled for early September. By the start of the event, participation reached record levels with 260 registered crews. This total included 153 modern vehicles and 107 historic cars, marking the first time the historic category exceeded 100 participants. The race serves as a competition for several Italian championships, including the CIVSA, CIVM, and CIVSAC. As the race in Sicily approaches, key contenders for the overall victory include Sicilian drivers Luigi Fazzino, driving an Osella PA30 Zytek Evo, and Samuele Cassibba in a Nova NP 01-2 C Judd, alongside Francesco Conticelli in a Nova NP 01-2 Zytek. The GT Racing team is also set to participate with five vehicles, featuring drivers such as Marco Nicoletti, Andrea Oliva, Chiara Cuccioloni, Enrico Gabrielli, and Gabry Driver.
