Montenegrin law enforcement has engaged in both regional security cooperation and domestic police operations. In late September, the Director of the Montenegrin Police Administration met with leaders of a European Union project focused on strengthening the resilience of critical entities and protecting public spaces and cyberspace in the Western Balkans. By early October, Montenegrin police conducted widespread preventive and repressive operations across the country. On October 9, authorities reported that large-scale nationwide controls involved the inspection of over 1,500 individuals. individuals and nearly 400 drivers. These operations resulted in 22 arrests for traffic violations, the seizure of narcotics such as marijuana and bromazepam, and various fines issued to hospitality establishments in Nikšić. In Bar, a Serbian citizen was detained for suspected theft during a casino inspection. In Herceg Novi, a man was detained for violating a court-ordered ban on leaving Nikšić.
