Montenegro maritime and fire safety equipment financing
Overview
The Montenegrin Ministry of Finance entered negotiations with Erste Bank for a €13 million credit arrangement to acquire critical safety equipment. The proposed funding was intended to cover a multifunctional tugboat for the Port Authority of Montenegro to improve navigation in the Bay of Kotor, and an Air Tractor AT-802 firefighting aircraft for the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
By November, the credit arrangement was finalized. The total 13 million euro loan consists of two separate agreements: 8 million euros for the maritime tugboat and 5 million euros for the firefighting aircraft. The finalized terms include a 48 month principal repayment period with semi-annual installments and a fixed annual interest rate of 4 percent.
