Digital Sun and 11 bit studios have announced that Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is scheduled for a digital release on September 2, 2026. The title, which transitioned from an early access period on PC starting in November 2025, will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. To promote the sequel, the original Moonlighter was offered for free on Steam for a limited time ending August 9, 2026. The new installment features a shift from 2D to 3D graphics, incorporating roguelite mechanics, expanded combat, and shop management systems. Players control Will, a survivor in the town of Tresna, following a catastrophe caused by Molloch the Collector. The gameplay involves exploring procedurally generated biomes to recover relics, rescuing survivors, and rebuilding the community, alongside a high-risk mode known as the “Night Realm.” As of August 31, 2026, the game officially exited its early access phase in preparation for the 1.0 version. Following the scheduled launch on September 2, the full version is now available. This release continues the story of Will, who sought refuge in Tresna after the loss of his home village, Rynoka, to the interdimensional entity Moloch. A new central element introduced in the sequel is the “Endless Vault,” a large, speaking entity that provides treasures and wishes in exchange for players meeting specific income targets. While the digital version launched in September, a physical edition published by Silver Lining Interactive is expected on November 13, 2026. Additionally, the game will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers at launch.
