On Middle East stability, Minister Bourita addressed the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, emphasizing Morocco’s commitment to an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. He cited Israeli military actions in Gaza and settlement expansion in the West Bank as critical concerns, noting that Morocco continues to support Jerusalem residents through the Al-Quds Committee and the Beit Mal Al-Quds Agency to preserve the historical and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. Furthermore, Bourita presided over the eighth ministerial meeting of the Atlantic African Initiative. He noted that since its 2022 launch, the initiative has been strengthening economic integration, infrastructure, and energy cooperation among Atlantic African nations to foster regional stability and sustainable development.
