Following appointments by King Mohammed VI, several Moroccan ministers participated in official handover ceremonies in Rabat. Nabil Benabdallah assumed the role of Minister of National Education, Preschool, Vocational Training, and Qualification, succeeding Mohamed Saad Berrada. Benabdallah indicated a focus on revitalizing the public school system, combating dropout rates, and reducing disparities between rural and urban institutions. He also addressed the ‘Pioneer Schools’ program, advocating for widespread reform that benefits all public schools rather than focusing resources on specific institutions. His agenda includes improving teacher training and enhancing Morocco’s performance in international assessments like PISA, TIMSS, and PIRLS. His tenure begins amidst planned strikes by five education unions protesting unresolved professional and financial issues regarding planning and guidance inspectors. Other ministerial transitions included Abdelrahim Chahid, who became the Minister of Employment and Social Dialogue, and Ryad Mezzour, who took charge of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Investment, and Economic Integration. Additionally, Madicha Kheir was appointed as the Delegate Minister in charge of Vocational Training and Qualification. Further transitions in Rabat included Charafat Afilaal, who succeeded Leila Benali as Minister of Energy, Transition, and Sustainable Development, emphasizing energy sovereignty. Fouzi Lekjaa took over the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Public Efficiency from Nadia Fettah. Additionally, Ahmed Rahou assumed leadership of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation, and Administrative Reform from Amal El Fallah Segrouchni, with a focus on leveraging digitalization for public services.
