Moroccan political parties have begun presenting competing social and economic programs aimed at addressing national stability and welfare. Initially, the Istiqlal Party proposed a state-led model focusing on national sovereignty, public services, and digital training. Their platform included expanding free preschool education, providing housing assistance and marriage incentives for youth, and reforming pension funds to protect retirees. More recently, Secretary General Nizar Baraka introduced a strategy in Fez to combat inflation by establishing supply enterprises that purchase harvests directly from producers to reduce intermediary costs. The party also proposed prioritizing domestic food supplies over exports to stabilize availability. Concurrently, the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) emphasized the need for substantive debate regarding program costs, noting that their integrated economic and social plan would require roughly 70 billion dirhams in annual funding. PAM leader and Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, Lekjaa has further detailed measures to protect purchasing power during party gatherings in Tinghir and Agadir. These include power, including doubling minimum direct social support for needy families to at least 1,000 dirhams per month, raising the minimum pension to 3,000 dirhams, and reviewing the tax system to facilitate monthly salary increases for employees between 1,500 and 4,000 dirhams. The party also seeks to ensure widow pensions remain intact and aims to stabilize essential goods prices. Adding to the competition, the Progress and Socialism Party has unveiled its platform centered on social justice and economic sovereignty. Secretary-General Mohamed Nabil Benabdallah stated the party intends to renew its political elite by recruiting young talent and women. Key proposals include a 15 percent increase for civil servant salaries and the minimum wage (SMIG and SMAG), alongside raising social support for vulnerable families to 1,000 dirhams. The party also aims to expand social protection to the self-employed, increase the industrial sector’s GDP contribution to 20 percent, and provide annual cultural vouchers to two million low-income families.
