In late July 2026, experts began issuing broad preventive‑maintenance advice aimed at two‑wheeler users in Brazil and Mexico. The guidance emphasized routine cleaning, lubrication, proper storage, tire‑pressure checks, oil changes and chain tension to extend the life of bicycles and motorcycles and reduce repair costs.

A few days later, a summer‑focused checklist was released, expanding the scope to include motorcycles and passenger cars. The Motul guide listed eight specific checks for summer riding, such as measuring cold‑tire pressure, inspecting for wear, verifying oil and coolant levels, and monitoring engine temperature.
