Japanese band Mrs. GREEN APPLE has announced that their sixth original full-length album will be titled ‘POPS’. Scheduled for release on September 30, 2026, the album will feature 16 tracks in total. This includes nine new songs, such as ‘Kyohan’, ‘Cinderella’, and ‘A Posteriori’, alongside seven previously released tracks like ‘Carrying Happiness’, ‘Natsu no Kage’, and ‘GOOD DAY’. To support the launch, the band has revealed the cover art, launched a dedicated smartphone website, and initiated pre-order campaigns. In the broader J-POP market, data from GEM Partners shows that Mrs. GREEN APPLE has remained the top non-idol artist for four consecutive half-year surveys. However, the band’s estimated fan count has decreased from a peak of 556,000 to 488,000. This decline coincides with a drop in the collective market share of the top four artists—Mrs. GREEN APPLE, Fujii Kaze, B’z, and Kenshi Yonezu—from 40.9% to 38.6%, indicating a wider dispersion of fans across the genre. While artists such as Sakanaction, back number, and Mr. Children have seen growth, YOASOBI experienced a decline, moving to 10th place in recent rankings. Further promotion for the album includes the band appearing on the cover of the November 2026 issue of ROCKIN’ON JAPAN, which is set for release on September 30. This issue will feature a 30-page special report exploring the ‘POPS’ album as the band enters ‘Phase 3’ following their 10th anniversary.
