The city of Jablonec nad Nisou is undertaking various municipal infrastructure and administrative updates. Efforts include the launch of a second tender for the reconstruction of the Kantorova vila, a modernist landmark, following a previous bid that exceeded the budget by 37 percent. The project is estimated at 54 million CZK. Other local developments involve maintenance and safety improvements, such as window replacements at the municipal building on Komenského Street and the implementation of new traffic markings near Vrchlického sady park. The traffic reorganization aims to reduce accidents by reclassifying street hierarchies and has resulted in the creation of ten additional parking spaces. Additionally, the city managed temporary parking closures at Horní náměstí to accommodate the Jablonecká Perle festival. Recent infrastructure initiatives focus on safety for children and urban traffic management. A modernization project for the children’s traffic playground on Podskalí Street is underway, with an estimated cost of 10 million CZK and a projected completion date in 2028. This reconstruction will include modern surfaces, updated lighting, new electrical installations, and improved signaling, including at least two high-quality cyclist intersections. To enhance student safety, the city is also adjusting traffic signage and parking regulations near the Basic School of Art (ZUŠ) on Korejská Street, which includes new parking layouts and designated spots for persons with disabilities. Furthermore, excavation work for high-voltage cable relocation is expected to cause traffic restrictions on Palackého, Arbesova, and 1. máje streets through October 28.
