Municipalities in Portugal and Brazil continue to implement various public infrastructure and revitalization projects. In Portugal, the Mayor of Lagoa inaugurated the renovated D. Amélia Botelho Faria e Maia Square in Cabouco, while the Municipality of Moura committed over 390,000 euros to requalify 80 kilometers of local paths damaged by weather. In Brazil, infrastructure efforts are expanding across several regions. In João Pessoa, the Secretariat of Infrastructure (Seinfra) is conducting pothole repairs, drainage cleaning, and lighting maintenance across 28 neighborhoods, while the Secretariat of Urban Development (Sedurb) monitors the “illegal privatization of public parking spaces on lowered sidewalks.” Rio de Janeiro remains a focal point for urbanization. Through the Morar Carioca program, R$ 35.4 million is being invested in the Chico Mendes community within Complexo do Chapadão for drainage, sewage, and paving, while the Bairro Maravilha program has completed R$ 11.8 million in works in Coelho Neto. The Rio de Janeiro state government is also negotiating to unlock R$ 120 million in CIDE funds for state highways. Regional connectivity and maintenance efforts are intensifying. In Campo Grande, pothole repair capacity has expanded to 12 work fronts, targeting 3,000 repairs per day, alongside the installation of nearly 190 kilometers of new sewage networks in 2026. In Mato Grosso do Sul, a R$ 15 million project in Aquidauana is underway to link the urban area to the MS-345 highway. Other active maintenance includes road recovery in Rio Branco’s high-traffic corridors and multi-zone pothole operations in ~~Marília.~~ Marília, Ribeirão Pires, and various other municipalities.
