Music competitions in Turkmenistan

Overview

Turkmenistan has held several music and singing competitions for young performers in celebration of the nation’s independence.

In the Ak bugdaý district, the ‘Garaşsyzlygyň merjen däneleri’ (Pearls of Independence) competition concluded at the ‘Türkmeniň ak öýi’ building. The event, marking the 35th anniversary of independence, included a ceremony at the Independence monument and messages from the President regarding the importance of representing national history through music.

Following this, the ‘Yanglan, Diyarim!’ singing competition held its final stage at the Ashgabat Music Center. Organized by the Ministry of Culture and the State Committee for Television, Radio, and Cinematography, the event was held in conjunction with the ‘Golden Age of Turkmen’ award. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov sent messages to participants emphasizing the preservation of national culture and the role of mentorship in the musical arts.
