MXGP 26 video game release and technical updates
In late September 2026, Artefacts Studio and Nacon announced the upcoming release of MXGP 26: The Official Game, a motocross racing simulator focusing on the MXGP and MX2 classes. The game was designed to include various modes such as Time, Championships, and Grand Prix, alongside multiplayer and sandbox training features. Following its scheduled release on October 1, 2026, the game became available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the title features photorealistic graphics and a ‘Dynamic Deformation’ system that allows terrain to change in real-time as motorcycles create ruts. The release includes official content from the 2026 season, featuring 16 motorcycles from manufacturers including KTM, Yamaha, Honda, and Kawasaki. On October 7, 2026, Artefacts Studio released Update 3 to address technical improvements and stability. This update introduced a revised first-person camera designed to remain forward-facing during jumps, such as scrubs and whips, to improve visibility. Technical enhancements also included increased stability for online racing, smoother rendering of other drivers, and fixes for known crashes in online mode. The update further adjusted driving physics regarding how motorcycles interact with ruts and implemented a system to automatically upload offline lap times once an internet connection is established. Developers have indicated that further adjustments may be considered for a potential release in November.
