A week later, the junta publicised four photographs of deposed leader Aung San Suu Kyi meeting an International Committee of the Red Cross delegate in Naypyidaw – the first images of her in over five years. The release coincided with senior commander Min Aung Hlaing’s upcoming state visit to Thailand, signalling the regime’s attempt to project legitimacy amid growing regional criticism.
