Fuji TV has released promotional materials, including poster visuals and a teaser video, for the sequel to the drama ‘Nami Uraraka ni, Meoto Biyori’. Based on the manga by Hachi Nishi and set in 1937, the series follows the relationship between Natsumi Ebata, played by Kyoko Yoshine, and her husband, an Imperial Japanese Navy officer. The production features the song ‘Muchu’ by BE:FIRST as an insert song, while the new theme song ‘Uraraka’ by Da-iCE is described as a “wedding-style middle ballad reflecting enduring love.” Lead actors Kyoko Yoshine and Kyoya Honda commenced filming on reconstructed Showa-era sets following a year-long hiatus. The cast includes Erika Ikuta and Yuta Koseki. The series premiered on October 15, with the first episode focusing on the innocent interactions of the newlywed couple. Viewers reacted positively to the chemistry between the leads, describing the performances as ‘heartwarming’ and ‘too cute’. As the series progressed, the second episode introduced Natsumi’s younger sister, Fuyuko, and began addressing the encroaching shadows of war. Recent developments include the integration of ‘modern-day’ segments at the end of episodes using alternate stories from the original manga. While the show remains popular, some viewers noted a casting change for the character Fumiko, who is now portrayed by Erika Ikuta following Maika Yamamoto's departure for maternity leave. The third episode, which aired on October 29, focused on Natsumi and her husband Takimasa during a trip to Nikko. The narrative explored the couple strengthening their bond following anxieties regarding Takimasa’s naval duties. Simultaneously, the relationship between Fukami and Fumiko showed increased intimacy. The episode also introduced a painter named Machida, played by Yuki Izumiwa, who assists Natsumi after she becomes lost in the woods. Ahead of the third episode, Fuji TV released promotional clips and behind-the-scenes photos.
