On October 31, 2026, the Beigang Creek Hot Spring Carnival began at the Taiya Resort in Guoxing Township as part of the 2026 Nantou Hot Spring Season. The event, which has been held annually since 2002, featured musical performances, indigenous cultural displays, and local markets. Approximately 4,000 visitors attended the opening, supported by free admission offers from the resort. Local officials noted the area is characterized by its sodium bicarbonate springs and the integration of Hakka and indigenous cultures. During the opening, singer Shen Wen-cheng performed. Attendees included Nantou County Government Tourism Bureau Deputy Director Wen Ming-chung and Chinese Hot Spring Tourism Association Chairman Li Hao-wei. The carnival aims to boost regional tourism, dining, and hospitality sectors. In Taitung, the Railway Market held a Halloween-themed parade and music event. During the festivities, Taitung County Magistrate Rao Ching-ling and county magistrate candidate Wu Shu-hua performed together. Wu Shu-hua used the event to present policy proposals, such as a 100 million TWD youth entrepreneurship fund designed to support young people in local sectors like tourism, catering, and creative design.
