A fuel supply crisis in Naples and the surrounding province, triggered by protests from truck drivers, has begun to subside. Following government intervention and the threat of mandatory service for drivers, authorities organized escorted convoys for over 1,000 trucks to deliver food and medicine, helping to restock supermarket shelves. As the situation moves toward normalization, public transport services managed by EAV are resuming in several areas, including Vico Equense, Agnano, Comiziano, Torre Annunziata, and Procida. While most services are returning to regular schedules, some locations like Ischia face a more gradual restart. Fuel availability is also improving on the Naples Tangenziale, though some specific service areas continue to report shortages. Naples Mayor Gaetano Manfredi has stated that the situation is returning to normalcy, though he noted that certain sectors, such as construction sites, experienced delays due to supply shortages. Naples Prefect Michele Di Bari credited a government decree for helping resolve the dispute, noting that while he had prepared documents to mandate driver service, an agreement reached through dialogue with transport companies made such measures unnecessary. During the period of unrest, law enforcement reported identifying 500 individuals and issuing sanctions to 450 others, primarily for traffic violations. While the most critical phase has passed, approximately 150 trucks remain in line to refuel for regional distribution.
