Law enforcement agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia continue to conduct operations targeting narcotics and criminal activity. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, recent enforcement actions occurred in Bugojno and Čapljina on September 26, 2026. In Bugojno, police searched a residence and discovered a white powdery substance suspected to be ‘speed’ packaged for street distribution. In Čapljina, authorities searched properties linked to an individual identified as M. B., seizing an undetermined amount of marijuana and amphetamine, four digital scales, 155 cannabis seeds, and two mobile phones. M. B. was detained on suspicion of unauthorized production and trafficking. These developments follow previous seizures in Sarajevo, including 12 kilograms of drugs and a firearm, and the ‘Trener’ operation in Banja Luka. Authorities also continue to investigate the import of two tons of chemical precursors through Sarajevo Airport. In Croatia, legal proceedings have addressed specific trafficking cases. The County State Attorney's Office in Pula issued an indictment against a 22-year-old from Poreč for allegedly selling marijuana and amphetamine to a 16-year-old on two occasions. Additionally, a 30-year-old man in Bjelovar was sentenced to 11 months in prison, later commuted to 660 hours of community service, for the unauthorized procurement and mediation of cocaine and marijuana. On October 16, 2026, Croatian authorities intercepted a large narcotics shipment at the Bajakovo border crossing. Officers seized 83,600 tablets being transported in a truck from Serbia to Ireland; while declared as medicine, the shipment contained 44,600 tablets of the narcotic Bensedin and 39,000 other undeclared tablets. A Serbian driver was fined 17,910 euros for tampering with customs seals and failing to declare goods.
