In Loreto, authorities conducted a nighttime raid on a residence in the Obrera neighborhood following anonymous tips. The operation, involving the State Attorney General's Office, municipal and state police, and the Secretariat of the Navy, resulted in the seizure of approximately 957 doses of suspected narcotics, including crystal meth and marijuana. A 44-year-old man was arrested at the scene. In the Dominican Republic, the National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD) and the Public Ministry executed several major operations. At the Don Diego Port in Santo Domingo, agents spent over 10 hours extracting 203 packages of alleged cocaine hidden in a double-bottom compartment of a container trailer destined for Puerto Rico. This extraction required specialized drilling and sawing equipment. One man was arrested, and authorities seized a vehicle, mobile phones, and cash. A simultaneous operation at Punta Cana International Airport led to the seizure of 25 packages found in a passenger's suitcase and the detention of a 34-year-old Dutch citizen attempting to board a flight to Paris. These efforts were supported by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL). Law enforcement also dismantled multiple distribution points in San Francisco de MacorĂs and conducted extensive raids across Greater Santo Domingo, including Santo Domingo Este, Norte, Oeste, and Boca Chica. These coordinated actions resulted in 253 arrests and the seizure of over 75,000 grams of various substances, including cocaine, marijuana, and crack, along with firearms and communication equipment. Furthermore, Interpol and local investigators arrested a father and son in San Pedro de MacorĂs who were wanted by Italian authorities for alleged involvement in a cocaine trafficking network. Dominican authorities have since intensified efforts against organized crime.
