Narcotics and kidnapping enforcement in Querétaro
Authorities in Querétaro have conducted several anti-narcotics operations under the ‘Sinergia por Querétaro’ initiative. In late August 2026, a raid in the Juriquilla neighborhood resulted in the seizure of over 40 kilograms of methamphetamine, nearly 9 kilograms of marijuana, 140 marijuana plants, and a long firearm. Subsequent operations in the Eduardo Loarca, San Pablo, and Pueblo de Jurica neighborhoods led to the arrest of four men. During these searches, officers seized crystalline substances suspected to be narcotics, a digital scale, and cash. On September 12, 2026, the Querétaro State Attorney General's Office expanded these efforts through simultaneous search warrants across the municipalities of Querétaro, Corregidora, and San Juan del Río. These operations involved the Specialized Unit for the Search of Persons, the Specialized Unit to Combat Kidnapping, investigative police, and the Mexican Army. In the Juriquilla area, authorities executed an arrest warrant against Gabino “N” for express kidnapping, while Luis Omar “N” was detained for possession of marijuana. In Corregidora, investigators secured a property related to an investigation involving auto parts. The coordinated efforts continued to target narcotics and kidnapping through various municipal and state forces.
