NASCAR 2027 schedule revisions

In early August 2026 NASCAR unveiled the 2026 Cup Series driver roster, confirming 36 full‑time drivers such as Ross Chastain, Austin Cindric, Austin Dillon, Noah Gragson and Kyle Larson, while noting ongoing charter disputes involving 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports.

At the same time an early leak of the 2027 Cup schedule surfaced, showing 36 race dates beginning with the Clash at Daytona on 13 February and the Daytona 500 on 21 February, and confirming stops at traditional venues including Atlanta, Circuit of the Americas, Talladega and a return to North Wilkesboro.

A few days later NASCAR formally announced further 2027 calendar changes: the series will return to New Hampshire Motor Speedway in September, replacing the Bristol race in the Chase and providing a debut opportunity for Canadian driver Cole Butcher. The Fourth of July weekend will shift to Iowa Speedway, which will host the ARCA Menards Series, the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series and the Cup race on 4 July after a full repave and upgrades.

These moves illustrate NASCAR’s strategy of rotating tracks, expanding its geographic footprint and addressing competitive and operational considerations for the 2027 season.
