Kansas Speedway hosted several NASCAR and ARCA playoff and championship events in late September 2026. In the NASCAR Cup Series Hollywood Casino 400, weather disruptions forced the cancellation of practice and qualifying, leading NASCAR to use a performance-based metric to set the grid. This placed Joey Logano on the pole, followed by Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell. Kyle Larson secured a dominant victory in the Cup Series race, driving the No. 5 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports. Larson led 235 of 267 laps and swept both stages, earning a perfect 76 points—the first such occurrence under the current points format. This victory marked Larson’s 34th career win and his second during the 2026 Chase. Larson reclaimed the lead from Chase Briscoe with seven laps remaining after Briscoe lost stability and brushed the outside wall, ultimately finishing 0.565 seconds ahead of runner-up Austin Cindric. Following the race, NASCAR conducted deep inspections at the Research & Development Center in Concord, North Carolina. Vehicles belonging to Ross Chastain, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney, and William Byron underwent rigorous examinations of engines, transmissions, suspension, and fuel systems; all four teams passed without penalties. As the postseason continues, the series moves to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the South Point 400 on October 4, 2026.
