National Geographic and Disney+ are releasing a three-part docuseries titled ‘9/11 Reunited’ to mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Produced by 72 Films in collaboration with the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, the series uses archival footage and personal accounts to highlight human connections formed during the tragedy. The documentary features reunions between survivors, first responders, and the strangers or rescuers who assisted them. Specific accounts include the story of six individuals, such as window cleaner Jan Demczur and two Port Authority officials, who escaped a trapped elevator near the 50th floor of the North Tower by using a brass window squeegee to break through a drywall wall. The series also covers the reunion of survivors like Deborah St. John with those who provided life-saving first aid. The docuseries is scheduled to premiere on Friday, August 21, on National Geographic in the United States, with availability on streaming platforms Disney+ and Hulu.
