Play by Play Studios, in collaboration with the NBA and NBPA, announced the ‘Wave One: 2000s Legends’ update for the 3v3 streetball game NBA The Run. The expansion was scheduled for release on September 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Upon release, the update introduced five NBA Hall of Famers: Allen Iverson, Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Kevin Garnett, and Dirk Nowitzki. These players include signature moves and stylized designs. The update also added the Dyckman NYC court, new camera perspectives like ‘Drive Cam’ and ‘Drive Flip Cam’, a Practice Mode against AI, and custom matches with adjustable rules, alongside new dunks, taunts, and licensed music.
