NCAA academic success grant distribution
Overview
The NCAA has allocated over $1.6 million in Accelerating Academic Success Program (AASP) grants to 17 Division I member schools for the 2026-27 academic year. The program, which has been in place since 2012, aims to provide resources to historically under-resourced institutions to bolster academic support, improve Academic Progress Rates, and assist student-athletes in achieving graduation.
Recipients include institutions such as Alabama A&M, Chicago State, Cleveland State, Coppin State, East Texas A&M, Indiana State, Jackson State, Long Beach State, Morgan State, Mississippi Valley, Northwestern State, Tennessee State, University of the Incarnate Word, University of South Carolina Upstate, UT Martin, and Winthrop. Austin Peay State University is among the recipients for the fourth consecutive year, receiving $100,000 to fund classroom renovations, technology upgrades, and the implementation of RealResponse, an anonymous reporting platform for student-athlete communication.
