Local mayors, police, and the Public Prosecution Service in Twente reached a consensus that highway blockades by agricultural vehicles fall outside the scope of demonstration rights. Prime Minister Jetten described the previous situation as ‘unacceptable and incomprehensible.’ While specific enforcement methods are still being discussed, local officials, including Mayor Roelof Bleker, intend to increase enforcement to prevent future incidents.
