The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has concluded the its nomination period for its the 2026 national executive elections, with 50 aspirants competing for having purchased forms to contest nine leadership roles. roles across 11 executive slots. The National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC) has described the process as peaceful. The National Vice Chairperson race remains the most contested with 13 aspirants. In the race for National Chairman, five candidates have emerged: Paul Afoko, John Boadu, Boakye Agyarko, Sammy Crabbe, and Bernard Antwi Boasiako. Former National Chairman Paul Afoko is set to formally file his nomination, campaigning on a ‘3R Agenda’ of Reunite, Rebuild, and Recapture to prepare the party for the 2028 general elections. The incumbent, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, is not seeking re-election. The National Vice Chairperson race remains the most contested with 13 aspirants. Other significant contests include the National Organiser role with eight aspirants, and the General Secretary and National Treasurer positions, which each have four candidates.
