Nexon announcement of Fareidolia game
Overview
Nexon has officially announced the title of its upcoming anime-style game, previously known by the codename Project RX, as ‘Fareidolia’. Developed by IO Division, the studio responsible for ‘Blue Archive’, the project is being built using Unreal Engine 5.
Described as an ‘otherworld homestay RPG’, the game is set in Anima City, a world resembling Earth. Players act as the director of the Anima City Restoration Center and manager of Tasogare Hall, interacting with characters possessing special abilities known as ‘Mates’. The gameplay features a ‘Live Turn Battle’ system that integrates strategic turn-based commands with real-time positioning, alongside a communication system where characters can react to the player’s voice.
Nexon plans to showcase the title at the Tokyo Game Show 2026, with plans to host a playable demo and an exhibition booth featuring a recreation of Tasogare Hall.
